Two recent situations occurred that I would like to share with you. These types of situations happen often, but these two are currently top of mind for me.
First – A gentleman called from the East Coast and advised us that his local hearing aid store had gone out of business. He had contacted the hearing aid manufacturer directly and had been given several options for providers in his area that represented the brand of hearing aid that he owned. The gentleman related to us that he had contacted every local provider on the list, explained his situation, and no one would help him. Not one of the local providers would accept him as a client because he had purchased his aids from another local hearing aid provider. As this gentleman explained this to me, I felt ill. I thought to myself, “How could any person in the industry not help this fellow out.”
Of course, we informed him that we would help out in any way possible. We suggested that he send his aids to us and we would service and adjust them as needed and ship them back to him. He said that he would prefer to drive to our office for service and sound adjustments. Wow, all the way from the East coast to our office, just west of Indianapolis, Indiana. Over 1,200 miles round trip.
Needless to say, he and his wife did drive to our office and we did take care of him. He left our office a very happy customer and said it was worth the trip. I was so embarrassed for the industry that we didn’t charge him a penny.
Second and most recent – A client called from a Northern State and told us that her Audiologist had informed her that their computer system had been hacked and due to this they were closing their office. I hope that there was a misunderstanding by the client about that, but that is what she related.
She was looking for someone that could service, repair and adjust the major national brand hearing aids that she and her son-in-law had recently purchased. Again, I told her that we would be more than happy to take care of her.
I know that there are a lot of awesome local hearing care professionals out there. I also know that things happen in life and local offices go into and out of business all the time.

I absolutely agree. My Widex dealer would not repair a hearing aid that had a ZPower rechargeable battery. I sent it to Hearsource and they replaced the rechargeable battery door and it works as good as new.
Good to know. I too wear the Widex Evoke hearing aids with the ZPower rechargeable battery system. No issues so far, but good to know that if there is an issue, that there is a place that will repair them if needed.
They sure do help when others won’t. My local hearing aid dealer is closed. The sign on the door says due to the coronavirus, but most other businesses have reopened. It has been seven months. I was in a total pickle as to what to do. HearSource has totally taken care of me under the original manufacturer’s warranty. I have only paid them shipping back and forth. They are a God send.
This article is so true. I bought hearing aids a few years ago locally here in Lexington, KY. and during this coronavirus situation, my local hearing aid office has been closed. I sent my hearing aids up to these people at HearSource. They took care of me and fixed my hearing aids under the original manufacturer’s warranty. They only charged me shipping ($14.50) cost to return it to me. I am so thankful I was able to find this kind company.
I really do appreciate this company. My local hearing aid office told me that my hearing aid could not be repaired. I sent it in to HearSource and they fixed it without issue. Forever grateful to this outfit.
These guys are awesome!!!
