Widex Evoke 440 312D Hearing Aids Evolve Over Time To Keep Getting Smarter
All hearing aids automatically make assumptions about how to make you hear better. Most of the time they get it right, but occasionally in specific sound environments, they don’t. Typically, when in those sound environments where the hearing aids aren’t sounding the way you want, the user would normally make a small manual adjustment to the sound settings.
Widex has developed a new technology called SoundSense Learn. SoundSense Learn provides that as you use your EVOKE hearing aids, their functionality evolves. As you and all the others around the world personalize listening experiences and preferences, the Widex EVOKE 440 312D hearing aids learn from different sound situations and your inputs. They then use this aggregated anonymous data from the changes you and everybody else made to create a better listening experience for all. That means that the hearing aids you buy today will be better tomorrow.
SoundSense Learn was developed to help hearing aid wearers hear how they want to hear. SoundSense Learn allows the wearer more control of how they hear at that specific moment, using a simple smartphone interface. SoundSense Learn helps the wearer control how they hear by simply presenting comparative sound options via a smartphone app. This easy-to-use smartphone app guides the wearer to better hearing by using A/B comparisons. The wearer listens to the A/B comparisons of the environment that they are in, through their hearing aids. The wearer simply selects either A or B, whichever sounds better. It is as easy as that. The automatic machine learning algorithm takes care of the rest.
Evoke is the first family of hearing aids that utilize machine learning. As more wearers use the system, powerful computers crunch the data to develop advanced algorithms to improve hearing. As the system progresses, the findings are used to advance the sound settings. These enhancements are then pushed out to the hearing aids as firmware updates. Your input helps Evoke evolve and perform better over time.
Hearing Aids With and Without SoundSense Learn Comparison
In a comparative study of hearing aid users, 89% of test participants reported significantly better sound quality and hearing using the settings achieved utilizing the SoundSense Learn protocol. The test participants were also consistently happier with the sound comfort that SoundSense Learn provided.
Sound Class Technology
Widex Evoke 440 312D uses the E-Platform microprocessor and processes sound across 15 separate channels. 15 channels are typical of the top of the line 440 aids. Unique to Widex is “Sound Class Technology”, the hearing aid constantly monitors and automatically identifies what kind of sound environment you are in. It then automatically adjusts its sound settings to maximize your ability to understand speech. The Widex Evoke 440 312D hearing aid offers 11 distinct sound settings. The Widex Evoke 440 also has a “High-Frequency Boost” feature that provides additional clarity when needed.
Widex Evoke 440 312D Offers 2 New Sound Classes & 2 New Programs
Originally introduced in the Unique hearing aid family was Sound Class technology and now Widex has added two more classes with the introduction of Evoke. The two new sound classes are “Social” and “Music”. The new Social sound class bridges the gap between the Party and the Quiet classes. It is designed to offer the best hearing for smaller social gatherings.
Widex has been clever with their new music sound class, it can tell the difference between Contemporary and Classical music.
Also included in the new Evoke is an Impact program for hearing in challenging situations and a dedicated Comfort program.
InterEar (IE) Technology
Allowing both hearing aids to act as one system is referred to as InterEar (IE) technology. IE technology provides for instantaneous exchange of data between hearing aids. Both hearing aids act in concert with each other for noise reduction, compression, and directionality functions. IE technology allows Evoke to enhance hearing effectiveness and deliver a natural hearing experience to the wearer. The preservation of minute differences in sound presented to our brain helps provide a superior spatial awareness.
Zen Tinnitus Management
Widex hearing aids have a tinnitus desensitization feature called Zen. Zen is proprietary to only Widex. Zen helps reduce or desensitize the wearer to the effects of tinnitus. The hearing aids present predictable non-repetitive sounds to the wearer. Zen should be used in conjunction with professional tinnitus management counseling.
Widex Evoke 440 Wind Noise Suppression
Wind Noise Suppression is Widex’s industry’s leading wind noise reduction feature. The Widex Evoke 440 attenuates more wind noise than any other hearing aid.

Great hearing aids.
John F. From Norfolk, VA. –
Overall an excellent experience purchasing my hearing aids from HearSource. I submitted my hearing test before purchasing the aids and the audiologist at HearSource confirmed my choice. The hearing aids work well. Very comfortable. Great company (both HearSource and Widex).
Leslie H. From North Port, FL. –
Love em, love em, love em.
Lennox K. From Clarkstown, NY. –
Quite possibly the best I have ever heard in my life. These aids perform wonderfully in every sound environment that I have found myself in. HearSource has done their job to support me flawlessly.
Ric E. From Tallahassee, FL –
Still a five-star review after one year of use. I have had zero issues with my Widex Evoke 440‘s and I still love them. I hear wonderfully with them in most sound environments. When I first started wearing them I was always second-guessing something that I didn’t hear clearly. I would constantly be asking my wife (she has normal/excellent hearing) “Did you hear that?” And she would usually answer “No”. I have come to trust that my hearing aids have pretty much restored my hearing to a somewhat normal level.
Also, I would like to give a shout out to HearSource and their people. They have been a delight to work with. They are always there to help and support me. I could not have hoped for a better or more professional dispensing organization.
Sebastian G. From Providence, RI. –
The best hearing aid that I have ever worn. I can’t thank HearSource enough for exceeding our expectations. Your pricing on these Widex Evoke 440’s made it possible for me to get the very best hearing aids recommended. I especially like their wind cancellation function. I have worn hearing aids for years and always hated wearing them outside due to wind noise blowing over the microphones. With these hearing aids, the wind is not an issue at all. Other suppliers’ pricing was way outside of our ability to afford these hearing aids. I’d like to tell any potential customers of yours that HearSource is an honest and extremely pleasant company to deal with.
Victor G. From New York, NY. –
Excellent, Excellent, Excellent. Everything about these Widex Evoke 440 hearing aids is great. I hear well and they sound wonderful. They are comfortable to wear. They were easy to pair to my iPhone.Great pricing thru Hearsource. Remote support and adjustments is amazing. This is a wonderful use of modern telehealth technology.
John W. From Florrisant, MO. –
Widex Evoke hearing aids get a 5-Star review from me. This is my first go-round with any hearing aids and I wanted the best. I did my research (took me months) and settled on Widex Evoke 440’s and HearSource. I haven’t been disappointed by either.
Howard K. from Fresno, CA –
HearSouce is AWESOME !!!
Boyd A. (New York, NY) –
I’m very happy with the better hearing that I am experiencing with my new Widex Evoke 440 hearing aids. I also bought the Widex TV Play accessory which streams TV sound directly to my hearing aids. Everyone else in the room can listen to the TV a more normal volume, then I can hear the TV at my needed volume with the sound being corrected by the hearing aids for my hearing loss. I also like that I can better hear my cell phone calls in stereo thru my hearing aids. This has greatly improved my ability to understand callers better. I also understand conversations in crowded areas much better. Overall, these hearing aids have improved the quality of my life tremendously. They are very comfortable. Sometimes I even forget to take them out of my ears before going to bed. The batteries last about seven days.
I appreciate HearSource, its staff, professionalism, and competence. Last but not least, I appreciate the much lower price that HearSource offers. There is really NO way that I could have afforded these “top of the line” hearing aids from my local audiology clinic.
Virgil K. –
Took a few days to settle in, probably my ears adjusting to hearing sounds that I had not heard in a while. Took a couple of days to be able to wear them for a full day. Honestly it was quite a large change for me, my wife, and my family. These hearing aids perform good outdoors in the wind, and indoors as well. The EVOKE handles conferences in large rooms (which had been an issue for me) with ease. Batteries last about a week. The instructions supplied are clear, and the box & kit are well designed. My aids came preprogrammed from HearSource right on the money. I haven’t had to use their remote tech support yet.
S. Krammer from Thailand –
Old satisfied customer!
Hello,
I wore HearSource hearing aids for many years while I was living in Japan, and was quite satisfied with them and used them until they got destroyed by saltwater in an unfortunate accident. As a result of that accident, When I went looking to replace them, obviously I went back to old faithful Hearsource. I previously had dealt with Aaron (HearSource) and am hoping for the same high-quality service as I have experienced for so many years. As the person who caused my saltwater accident was now paying, (now living in Northern Thailand.) I went with the much smaller Widex Evoke 440 receiver in the ear hearing aids, they were easier to wear.
Long story short, there is only one hearing aid store in my neck of the jungle, HearSource has done an excellent job of remotely supporting and doing as needed sound adjustments no matter where I am in the world.
Please pass along best wishes from the guy who was in Japan (now in Thailand)! I’m looking forward to doing business with HearSource again!

Jeff M. from Universal, Indiana. –
I recently purchased a set of Widex Evoke 440 from HearSource.com.
I had been wearing Miracle-Ear for the previous 5-6 years. It had seemed that I was missing more than gaining. I had to turn them off for Church, They were turned way up.
Upon inserting these new Widex aids, I found out what the real world sounds like.
The initial visit was awesome, Chuck was beyond words. I was truly IMPRESSED with HearSource for my hearing needs being met.
I recently went out with 2 couples to a noisy restaurant, and I heard all conversations, able to understand conversations, and actually interact in the conversations.
I recommend this Hearing Instrument facility to anyone having difficulty hearing and are looking to improve their hearing. They are open M-F. Located right on Rt 36. No driving thru downtown areas looking, just look for the sign in front. Very Convenient.
Richard Morton –
5-star review from me in reference to these Widex Evoke 440 RIC 312D hearing aids and HearSource.com. First, I SAVED over $3,800 purchasing these from HearSource compared to the local audiologist’s office. If it were not for HearSource I would have not been able to purchase these hearing aids. The price locally was just more than I could pay. Second, I received my hearing aids in three business days from the time I ordered them. That was faster than my local audiologist said she could provide them to me. Third, I hear great. These aids were preprogrammed for me based on the hearing test that I had submitted. HearSource did the fine-tuning for me remotely. I never even had to leave the house. Bottom line… great hearing aids, great pricing, great service & support, great decision, great hearing.
Jay Wilson –
My review of the Widex Evoke 312D hearing aids is 5 stars. I have worn hearing for over 20 years and have used several different brands. The sound quality of these is excellent. I especially like streaming phone calls from my iPhone. I hear the calls in both ears, which helps with clarity.
